Charlene Nowotny selected as the Total Package Award recipient

Charlene Nowotny of the women's soccer team was selected as the recipient of the Total Package Award for the 2019 fall sports season.

The award is presented on a seasonal basis to the student-athlete who excels in each of the following: athletics, academics, character, sportsmanship, personal fitness and community involvement.

"Charlene fully deserves to be recognized with this award," said head coach Ashley Martin. "With her ability, passion and loyalty, Charlene has helped put Flagler women's soccer on the national map. She performs both on the field and in the classroom, and has led the team with distinction."

D2CCA All-America first team selection, a United Soccer Coaches and D2CCA All-Southeast Region first-team member, and a first-team all-conference pick this fall.  

Academically, Nowotny received the CoSIDA Academic All-America® Team Member of the Year, the most prestigious academic award in Division II college soccer. She was a first-team Academic All-American along with earning Academic All-District III honors. Nowotny also earned academic all-conference honors.

Her community service projects have included volunteering at the St. Augustine 10K, cleanup of two hurricanes, mentoring of incoming student-athletes, and she was a recipient of the Women of Vision scholarship.
